MBS Superintendent Dr. Dicky Barlow sits down with CBS Principal, Brannon Aaron, and Crestline Kindergarten teacher, Emily McGuire, to discuss Kindergarten at Mountain Brook Schools. MBS Communications/PR Specialist, William Galloway, visits with MBHS 2021 graduate, Gordon Sargent. Gordon won the 2022 NCAA Division 1 Men's Golf Individual National Championship. He's a member of the Vanderbilt Men's Golf team. The two discussed golf, Gordon's experience going from Mountain Brook to Vanderbilt and much more!

ALL IN Mountain Brook: Damon West preview

Mountain Brook Schools, ALL IN Mountain Brook and Mountain Brook football are teaming up to bring Damon West to Mountain Brook to speak to the community for a free event on Tuesday April 12, 2022 at 6pm at Mountain Brook High School. William Galloway (MBS Communications/PR Specialist) sits down with Chris Yeager (MBHS Head Football Coach) to discuss the positive impact Damon's message will have on this community.

MBHS volleyball head coach, Mattie Gardner, and seniors Greer Golden and Lucy Redden joined Dr. Dicky Barlow to discuss their recent state championship and journey to winning three state titles in a row. The group explored the Spartans 43-12 season, Gardner's first year as head coach and much more.

March 23, 2020 - Dr. Barlow Interviews Brock Rotter, Secondary Teacher of the Year

Rotter teaches 12th-grade government and economics at Mountain Brook High School, where he has worked since 2012. Principal Philip Holley said Rotter is a gifted educator who has taught a variety of subjects and exemplifies excellence in the classroom.

“We are so blessed to have him at the high school,” Holley said. “I’m blessed to call him a friend, and we’re so happy he’s representing the high school as our Teacher of the Year.”

In the coming months, one elementary teacher and one secondary teacher will be chosen as Mountain Brook’s representatives in the state’s teacher of the year competition.

March 23, 2020 - Dr. Barlow Interviews Sarah Jackson, Elementary Teacher of the Year

Jackson is a speech-language pathologist at Cherokee Bend Elementary School, where she has worked since 2012. Principal Sandy Ritchey said students see Jackson as a knower of all things, peers see her as a servant leader, and parents see her as a miracle worker.
“Sarah helps our children learn how to cope emotionally and is able to develop their social skills so they can interact well with their peers,” Ritchey said. “... She’s an incredible listener, a quiet leader, but moves mountains.”
